What to watch out for when choosing?

1 - For all external surfaces, it is important to use a solid profile. Not only does it not need to be anchored to the base, but it also does not need to be sloped, unlike hollow profiles. With solid profiles, there is no differential expansion of the top and bottom sides, and therefore no subsequent warping or cracking.

2 - Fasteners – an integral part of every terrace and fence. For terraces, the standard range includes everything in stainless steel – fastening clips and screws in A4 stainless steel for use both on terraces and on decks around pools with saltwater treatment. Beware of plastic clips, which do not have sufficient strength to secure the decking profiles and do not allow for their longitudinal movement – the decking profiles then slip in the clips. On the other hand, a plastic clip prevents the boards from expanding in width. Over time, this leads to the gradual bulging of the decking profile upwards and may result in longitudinal cracks.

3- Long service life of over 25 years without maintenance, coatings, splinters, cracking, and similar issues.

4- The profile should have a brushed surface – from the very beginning it will have its patina across the entire area and no worn paths will form on the terrace.

5- Pay attention to the material composition – the ideal combination is 50–60% wood flour and the remaining 40–50% polymer, ideally HDPE. If the composition contains a higher proportion of wood flour, there is a risk of constant swelling of this mixture, which will cause gradual deformation of the profiles and the integrity of the terrace surface. In the photo below there is a hollow profile with a composition of 75% wood – 25% PP after three years – crumbling, longitudinal cracking and significant instability are evident across the entire surface. The original saving was approximately 10% compared to the solid profiles offered here.

6- Proven manufacturer with sufficient production facilities. The manufacturer operates nearly 60 production lines running continuously, with regular inspections of the manufacturing process.

7- The seller should have their own installers who know the material well and understand how to install it correctly. This also allows for continuous control over the high quality of the profiles offered. A complete set of installation tools and accessories during installation must then be a matter of course.

8- A product range that is interconnected across individual sections. A terrace, fence, bench or facade in one design is a natural standard here.
